| July 21 2009 Highly Reliable Systems and Community Share Topic (tips and tricks) utilities and experiences High Rely manufactures alternatives to tape backup. The High Rely eSATA backup products allow 1 to 10 drives to connect to a single or dual controller. Kathy Raye will be discussing their multi-bay hot-swappable hard drive backup systems that take the place of robotic tape at a fraction of the cost. Kathy will have on hand Highly Reliable Systems’ 1 bay, 2 bay rack mount, 5 bay, FirstRAID and RAIDFrame products. High-Rely products are designed for businesses that don't want to struggle with tape and yet also can't afford to lose their business data. High Rely media are cheaper, faster, more reliable and just as portable as tape. The units connect to any fileserver via a PCI based eSATA controller. Kathy will also be introducing their latest new product: Backup Network Attached Storage (BNAS) device, which provides multiple disaster recovery solutions. The BNAS 201 is designed for Managed Service Providers and customers who need a backup solution that is fast and remotely manageable. Kathy will also be introducing their new backup/storage enclosures that use inexpensive, low power 2.5” SATA drives, called M-Pac. The units attach directly to any server or workstation with eSATA cables, which are faster than USB or Gigabit Ethernet. Designed for high density storage or backup, the M-Pacs can be used as an alternative to tape or USB drives. The M-Pac drive tray holds two 2.5” drives (HDD or SSD up to 12.5mm) and an integrated striping/mirroring board. The trays incorporate an air gap and engineered air flow between the drives for maximum cooling and reliability. |

Data transmission and storage requirements continue to increase rapidly for today's leading global enterprises. Many of these organizations' data centers are already running 10-Gbit/sec Ethernet in their backbones. Technological developments and trends such as advanced server technologies and link aggregation are creating the need for connectivity even faster than 10-Gbits/sec. This presentation, produced by ADC, will provide an overview of the technological developments driving 40- and 100-GbE development, look at the progress being made on the IEEE 802.3ba specifications, and specifically focus on the optical media and its connectivity that will enable 40- and 100-GbE transmission, while maximizing overall facility efficiency in areas of power consumption and heat dissipation.
Teldata Enterprise mission is to design and install high quality, cost effective voice, data and networking solutions and services, while maintaining a professional, technically educated and customer focused staff that will set industry standards and exceed our client’s expectations. That mission statement is just as important to us today as it was two decades ago when we opened our doors. Teldata Enterprise Networks continues to earn its reputation by providing superior solutions and services including Voice Systems, Network Cabling, Surveillance, Wireless and Network Services to a broad range of clients across the United States.
